Acupuncture in Brampton
In an acupuncture session, Dr. Keogh will insert very thin, fine needles into strategic points in your body. These are sterile, single-use, disposable needles to ensure your safety – and no, acupuncture usually does not hurt. Each treatment lasts from 15 to 30 minutes.
Combining Therapies
With acupuncture, patients have experienced pain relief after accidents and sports injuries, as well as an end to headaches, sciatica, carpal tunnel syndrome, and pain in the back, elbow, neck and shoulders. Treatment is often most successful when paired with other natural treatments such as chiropractic and physiotherapy. Most insurance plans cover acupuncture.
How Acupuncture Helps Patients
The placement of acupuncture needles at certain points in the body triggers the release of natural steroids and endorphins, which help decrease inflammation and block pain. Not only are the body’s natural healing tendencies unlocked, but also you can sometimes experience immediate pain relief. Some patients also feel euphoric after an acupuncture treatment.
